Artificial intelligence is rapidly developing, and the future only looks bright for the tech. It’s disrupting companies across various sectors and areas, and it won’t be long before it makes an even bigger impact and radically transforms the way companies do business—yours, included.
But there’s still a long way to go before then. According to the MIT Sloan Management Review and The Boston Consulting Group, close to 85% of executives believes that an AI solution will provide their companies with a competitive advantage. Despite this, only 1 in 5 companies has incorporated the tech into operations. Additionally, while the largest companies are the most likely to have an AI strategy, only half of that segment has a plan in place.
Overcoming roadblocks
Whether it’s because of data infrastructure or staff training, companies still have hurdles to take care of before actual AI implementation. The important thing is, you address these issues early on.
If you find your organization lacking in terms of talent, you can focus efforts on training existing staff or hiring new people. If you discover limitations in terms of data, you can work with your data scientists and come up with the required data governance or warehousing strategies. If direction is unclear, you can plan ahead and make a shortlist of business cases where AI would be useful.
As such, it’s critical to take an inventory of the areas where your organization shines or needs improvement in terms of artificial intelligence technology. Discover if your company is ready to adopt artificial intelligence and see where preparations can be made by downloading this checklist.
